Experiencing some profound life changing events stopped me in my tracks and allowed me to take time out to reflect on what I really wanted to do in life and in doing so, discover my true path.
I underwent 4 years of professional training to become an integrative counsellor, which included 40 hours of personal therapy, so I understand what it feels like to talk through our innermost fears and anxieties. I graduated with a BSc First Class (Honours) Degree from Bath Spa University, with outdoor walk and talk therapy as a specialism.
I have always been passionate about empowering people to overcome hurdles to achieve their goals, and before training to become a counsellor, I worked as a community support worker for a charity supporting people with sight loss. Prior to that, I taught adults in further education organisations for over 17 years.
In addition to private counselling, I have lectured for local counselling training providers, worked as a counsellor for veterans and blue light personnel, and currently work part-time for a national charity as a bereavement counsellor.
Originally from the Midlands, living in the beautiful Devon landscape and with nature on the doorstep, has inspired me to reconnect with my love of nature and explore the benefits of nature based walk and talk therapy which can be a gentler and more natural approach for clients who may feel a bit daunted by traditional face-to-face counselling.
Whatever you need to talk about, I draw on professional knowledge and skills, and my own life experience to help you find ways to cope with your own challenges.
